Pneumonia-2/22/08

Well, I had to go back to the doctor Friday to see why I was still coughing like crazy. I've been getting no sleep and it has been really hard for me to get air in my lungs. Can you believe the flu has turned into pneumonia! You better believe next year I will be the first one in line for a flu shot. I am still working though. I depleted my days for maternity leave. Oh, well.

Flu-2/14/08

Well, Owen seems to be better now. However, I have come down with the flu. Therefore Owen is with my mom because I am running a fever of 102 and feel terrible. I miss my baby, but I don't want him to get sick.

Children's South-2/3/08

John and I had to take Owen to Children's South after hours clinic today. He is wheezing in his chest. They did a chest x-ray and a breathing treatment on him. He has RSV. We had to get a mask and an inhaler to give him every 4 hours. He hates it. Having a wheezing baby is scary.

Back to the doctor-1/30/08

Mom took Owen back to the doctor. He has a cold. There is nothing I can give him because he has just come off of 2 rounds of antibiotics for ear infections. Just good old fashioned tylenol and the humidifier.

Owen's 6 month checkup-1/29/08

Well Owen went to the doctor today for his 6 month checkup and to make sure his second ear infection was gone. His ears were clear and they said Owen was 16 lbs. and 5 oz. and was 27 1/2 inches long. He is a little under the weight curve and a little over the height curve (which they say is ok). He had four shots and the flu vaccine. That night Owen began coughing. I had to get my mom to take him the next day back to the doctor.

If you only knew how long it took me to figure out how to get my feet into my mouth! They are almost as yummy as my fingers!

Owen wasn't sure about his jumperoo at first. Now he loves jumping up and down.

Owen's first snow-1/19/08

I hope Owen will see more snow in his lifetime and he can play in it and build a snowman.

Owen was in his high chair. He loves his high chair and so do I. It has all kinds of toys to keep him occupied.

George Strait Concert!-1/17/08

John got me 2nd row seats to George Strait this year! For those of you who know me well, you know I have only missed one George Strait concert since 1994. Second row was a HUGE deal for me. It was like you were having a conversation with someone. He had a special guest (Kenny Chesney)! They sang Amarillo By Morning. How perfect was this concert?!!!

Owen pulling on his ears-1/14/08

Owen had to go back to the doctor today. He has another ear infection! This time he wasn't as fussy he was just really pulling on his ear.

Re-check-1/9/08

Owen went in for his 2 week check up for his ear infection. His ears are clear and the doctor says he is fine.

Owen's first ear infection

I called the doctor on December 26th. Owen had been extremely fussy. Dr. Smith was off so we saw Dr. Bryant. Owen has his first ear infection. They put him on medicine and said it would be a long weekend. He doesn't want me to put him down.

Owen couldn't sit up by himself in the toy box, so I got in there with him. No I did not break it!

Owen's First Christmas! 12/25/07

Owen was so happy to see that Santa came to visit him. He got up about 5:00 a.m. He is already getting an early start on Christmas mornings. He got a toy box, wagon, and a lot of other toys, books and videos. He is still fussy today. I think I will call the doctor tomorrow.

Christmas Eve at Nanny's-12/24/07

After we went to my mom's we had to go to John's mom's house. Owen was still fussy. I opened his presents while John took pictures. He got drums, an activity table, money, a savings account and other toys. We went outside and saw Santa ride by on the firetruck.

Christmas Eve at Ne Ne's-12/24/07

We always go to my mom's house on Christmas Eve. Owen started acting fussy that day He wouldn't have anything to do with opening his presents. I had to open them QUICKLY while John held him. He got a teddy bear, giant Elmo, a fisher price train and wobble ball and other neat toys.

A Christmas Carol-12/20/07

For those of you who know my family you will never guess who this is. My nephew Michael. As long as I have known him I never knew he could act. When the play started I didn't even know it was him. He was awesome. Not only does he have a calling from God to be a preacher, but he also has a hidden talent for acting! It was an awesome play that Brooklane Baptist Academy did.
